01 – ABOUT

Advancing Deep Tech Commercialization

CDTE is a new competency center that supports the commercialization of Deep Tech in Germany and Europe. It is currently located at XU Exponential University. This primarily represents the activities of Prof. Dr. Bastian Halecker and his Deep Tech Entrepreneurship, bringing together individuals from various research streams and projects within the Potsdam and Berlin Ecosystem. CDTE utilizes the latest deep tech entrepreneurship insights to bridge science, business, and entrepreneurial and technical talent. It is currently headquartered in Potsdam, Germany.

02 – RESEARCH

Cutting-Edge Applied Research

Our application-oriented research activities focus on three essential areas:

Deep Tech

Specific deep tech development, such as AI, DLT & new infrastructure (energy, building, mobility, etc.)

Deep Tech Entrepreneurship

Transfer approaches of technology (i.e. Lab-to-Market & Market-to-Lab) through Deep Tech Entrepreneurship

Deep Tech Ecosystems

Support the management of deep tech ecosystems through the use of data and transparency. This will facilitate access and foster deep tech innovations.

Collaborate and Innovate with Us

The CDTE is a dynamic institution and network that provides opportunities to work as a researcher, learn as a tech-talent, act as an entrepreneur, and collaborate on projects. Accordingly, we offer various opportunities to collaborate or work with us.

🤝 Research Project application and funding support

We aid in the identification and application process for joint practice-oriented research projects and funding initiatives, specifically for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and larger German Mittelstand companies.

🎓 CDTE Tech-Fellowship

We support and promote talented (Deep) Tech students through programs, financial support, network and knowledge in the development of relevant marketable solutions.

🚀 Venture Scientist Program

We assist PhD students in transforming their research into the deep tech startups of tomorrow. We provide an individual support program and offer a large network of partners, industries, and investors.

Content and publications

Here we share continuously our latest insights and knowledge about Deep Tech, Entrepreneurship, Investments etc. In addition, we offer various content specifically for the establishment and spin-off of companies for young talents.

Own working papers and publications

Here we collect all of our own contributions, working papers or relevant publications from the CDTE.

External reports and studies

We continually collect relevant studies, reports, or other publications on the topic of Deep Tech, Entrepreneurship and Ecosystems.

Call for collaborative research

We are continuously looking for student, doctoral candidates or other scientifically inclined partners for joint publications. For this, we have a current overview.
